Senior Commander of Al-Hashd Al-Shabi: The United States targeted us with a bomb weighing 1250 kg
An Iraqi al-Hashd al-Shabi commander, referring to a committee’s visit by Baghdad to the site of yesterday’s US attack in western Anbar, said the United States targeted al-Hashd al-Shabi in the area with a bomb weighing more than a ton.
Ahmed al-Maksousi, commander of Iraq’s 14th Al-Hashd al-Shabi brigade, whose headquarters were targeted in a US-led offensive in western Anbar province yesterday morning, announced that the Iraqi government had sent a committee to US-targeted bases.
According to the Al-Ma’loumeh telegram channel, he said the government had sent a committee to investigate and visit the US attack on western Anbar province. The targeted al-Hashd al-Shabi forces were stationed inside the Iraqi border, 13 kilometers from the border with Syria. These forces had no arsenal of weapons or clashes with foreign forces. The bomb used was 1250 kg.
Al-Maksousi explained: The attack was carried out by the US forces with a bomb weighing one ton and 250 kg with several UAVs and fighters and targeted more than one headquarters.
The al-Hashd al-Shabi commander called on the United Nations and human rights organizations to condemn the US crime, which Washington has confessed to.
“At 2 a.m. today (Monday, June 28), US aircraft flew to three points of the Al-Hashd al-Shabaab (14th and 46th Brigades), located 13 kilometers inside,” the Iraqi Al-Hashd al-Shabi organization said in a statement yesterday. “The Iraqi border was targeted in the city of al-Qaim in the western part of Anbar province.”
According to the statement, “The rape resulted in the martyrdom of four people who were carrying out their normal duty of preventing the infiltration of ISIS elements from Syria into Iraq. These forces were operating under the command of the Iraqi Joint Operations and were not involved in any activities against the presence of foreign forces in Iraq. “As the Al-Hashd al-Shabi organization has repeatedly emphasized.”
Yesterday morning, news sources in Iraq and Syria reported an unidentified airstrike on positions in the Bokmal area on the Syrian-Iraqi border, and minutes later it became clear that the attack was on a support and logistics base of the 14th Iraqi Al-Hashd al-Shabi Brigade.
Minutes later, the Pentagon issued a statement acknowledging responsibility for the attack, saying, “US fighter jets carried out precision strikes on areas in Bokmal on the Syrian border on Sunday night at the behest of President Joe Biden.” “Iraq has done it.”
