The United States refused to call the attack on Nancy Pelosi’s husband a terrorist.
At the same time as the prosecution announced the crime against the attacker against the husband of the speaker of the US House of Representatives on charges of attempted murder, the Minister of Internal Security of this country, however, avoided calling this attack a terrorist.
“Alejandro Mayorkas”, the Secretary of Internal Security of the United States, on Tuesday morning, avoided declaring the attack a few days ago on the personal home of Nancy Pelosi, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and wounding her husband, as a terrorist.
“Violent extremism is one of the biggest threats related to terrorism in America,” Mayorkas said in an interview with CNN. “It is difficult to consider the attack on the husband of the Speaker of the House of Representatives as domestic terrorism.”
He also added: “We are worried that our opponents (supporters of the Republican Party) will take advantage of the differences and division caused by violent statements.”
At the same time, Brooke Jenkins, the San Francisco City Prosecutor, while announcing the crime against the person who attacked Pelosi’s husband on the charge of attempted murder, said: “We believe that the motive for the attack on Mr. Pelosi was political.”
According to “Hill”, Jenkins explained in the press conference: “The agent of the attack on the house of the Speaker of the House of Representatives had asked her husband about Pelosi’s whereabouts. Based on the available evidence, it is clear that the attacker targeted Pelosi and his wife with a prior intention.”
He stated that the attacker deliberately entered Pelosi’s residence to confront the Speaker of the House of Representatives and added: “In addition to attempted murder, his charges include robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, abuse of the elderly, illegal imprisonment of an elderly person, and threatening a government official.” And it becomes his family.”
