Beijing: The United States is the inventor of forced diplomacy and foreign policy.
Criticizing the United States for using various methods to impose its foreign policy on other countries, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said that Washington was creating imaginary enemies.
Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister Xi Feng met with US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman in Tianjin today (Monday).
During the meeting, which took place in a tense atmosphere following the recent provocative actions of Washington against Beijing, Feng blamed various US governments for the current stalemate in relations between the two countries.
“It was the United States that invented coercive diplomacy,” he said in an outspoken statement, according to Reuters.
“US-China relations have reached a stalemate and are facing serious difficulties,” the senior Chinese diplomat explained. “The United States wants to revive the feeling of having a national goal by portraying China as an imaginary enemy.”
Senior US government officials have traveled to China, with informed sources describing the purpose of the trip as easing Washington’s tensions with Beijing, a current global power.
Sherman, Biden’s top official to visit China, has recently arrived in Tianjin amid bilateral tensions over accusations of cyberattacks, heavy sanctions and further efforts by Washington to rally its partners against Beijing.
However, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi criticized US foreign policy yesterday, saying the United States must understand that no country is superior to another.
China has repeatedly protested against the US military presence in the region and called for the immediate withdrawal of US ships and military equipment from the region. China also opposes the US coercive approach to independent countries and opposes the US approach of unilateral sanctions against various countries and nations.
