Emphasizing that the statements of Western officials are accompanied by politicization and baseless accusations regarding chemical weapons, he added: “Syria considers itself obliged to cooperate with the technical secretariat of the Organization for the Proliferation of Chemical Weapons to resolve the remaining issues mentioned in the first statement.”.
Al-Sabbagh added that the Syrian government continues its cooperation with the “fact-finding committee” and welcomes the visit of the fact-finding committee delegation to Damascus in March.
“We regret that the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) has ignored a statement signed by experts and scholars, including the organization’s first director-general, regarding the investigation into the alleged Duma attack,” he said.
Al-Sabbagh went on to call on the United Nations to provide information on terrorist attempts and “white helmets” to carry out new chemical games and fake chemical attacks.
