The United Nations called for the removal of educational barriers for Afghan girls.
A group of UN human rights experts criticized the behavior of the ruling group of the Taliban in Afghanistan and particularly criticized the Taliban’s behavior towards women.
In a statement released by the United Nations headquarters in New York on Saturday, eleven independent human rights experts appointed by the United Nations noted that the Afghan Taliban had committed “gross violations” of the basic rights of citizens and women.
Experts noted: “While Afghan girls are deprived of secondary education, women are prevented from entering public places such as parks and sports halls.”
Experts also pointed out that banning women’s access to parks deprives children of the opportunity for recreation and sports and recreational activities. The statement also said that men who accompanied women in colorful clothes or without face coverings were beaten by Taliban forces.
All 11 human rights monitors called on the Taliban to adhere to all international human rights obligations that Afghanistan is responsible for, to fully implement the human rights standards that Afghanistan has freely accepted, and to respect the rights of all girls and women. pave the way for them to enter education, employment, and participation in public and cultural life.
Experts also asked members of the international community to support the creation of equal educational opportunities for Afghan women.
Previously, “Zabihullah Mujahid”, the spokesperson of the Taliban government, emphasized in a meeting: Women should not come out of the houses with make-up like in the Jahili period, and all women are required to observe the sharia hijab (documented by today’s approval of the Ministry of Good and Prohibition of Evil). ) and wrongdoers are dealt with seriously.
A few months ago, the Taliban’s Ministry of Good and Prohibition of Evil has issued a new order regarding women’s hijab in the country, based on which it has been emphasized that women should observe full hijab. In this order, it is stated that if a woman does not observe hijab, firstly her guardian will advise and punish her, secondly she will be summoned, thirdly she will be imprisoned for three days and fourthly she will be taken to court.
