The Emirati Khalifa bin Zayed Institute has launched a plan to build housing units for Israeli officers, soldiers and military experts based at the joint Emirati-Israeli military base on the island, Yemen News reported, citing sources.
According to these sources, the construction of these residential complexes is in line with the UAE’s efforts to accommodate the families of Israeli officers. Dozens of Israeli families have arrived in Socotra in recent weeks as tourists.
The sources point out that the aim of the UAE plan is to expand the Zionist military presence in Socotra; In this way, the Zionist regime is trying to make Socotra the center of its espionage operations in order to be able to dominate the sea routes.
In this regard, informed sources recently announced that the UAE has officially started financing the construction of a military base in Yemen. The sources said the base was to be built on Abdul Kuri Island in the Socotra archipelago.
According to these sources, this base belongs to the Zionist regime, and the UAE, in coordination with the regime’s intelligence service, has keyed in the construction of this base. The sources stressed that the military base is located along the Israeli Operations Room in Socotra.
IKAD research site has also published satellite images of the UAE military base in Abdul Kuri, which show that the country is building airport runways on the island, 540 meters long and 30 meters wide.
