The target of the US night raid in Idlib, Syria.
After last night’s US operation in Idlib, Syria, and the killing of several women and children, some opposition sources suggested that a new ISIL leader had been killed in the US attack.
Syrian opposition sources this afternoon (Wednesday) raised the possibility of a US morning attack on Idlib (northwestern Syria).
“Orient” news site – close to the opposition – quoted field sources as saying that “Abdullah Qardash” known as “Abu Ibrahim Al-Qurashi”, the new leader of the ISIL terrorist organization, had been killed in the US morning attack. The Saudi Al-Hadath channel also quoted its sources as saying that the person who was targeted in the US morning operation was the new leader of ISIL.
However, Rami Abdul Rahman, director of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights website, which is close to the opposition, told France 24 that a US official had targeted a senior al-Qaeda official; It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.
Al-Hadath added shortly after its first report that the results of the civilian test would determine in another three hours whether Abu Ibrahim al-Qurashi had been killed in the attack.
Media sources reported this morning that at least 13 people, including several women and children, had been killed by US troops in the northern suburbs of Idlib. Al Jazeera reported that US coalition helicopters flew over the Atma and Deer Oak areas on the northern outskirts of Idlib last night, killing ten people, including seven children, while carrying out helicopters around the town of Atma.
The operation reportedly lasted three hours, after which coalition helicopters entered Turkish territory. The International Coalition drones targeted the site of the operation after the helicopters retreated.
