The Speaker of the US House of Representatives reacted to the report of torture in Saudi Arabia.
The Democratic Speaker of the US House of Representatives expressed concern over reports of torture of a relief worker imprisoned in the Saudi regime.
The Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, has expressed concern over reports of torture of a human rights activist imprisoned in the Saudi regime, according to the Sach News Agency.
Abdul Rahman al-Sadhan, a relief worker, was arrested in March 2018 and sentenced to 20 years in prison, followed by a 20-year travel ban.
Pelosi claims that the US Congress will monitor Al-Sadhan’s appeals trial on Monday, as well as all human rights abuses by the regime.
The Saudi embassy in Washington has not yet responded to Pelosi’s remarks or questions about al-Sadhan’s alleged torture.
The Democratic speaker of the US House of Representatives is concerned while the Washington administration has been silent for years in the face of the Saudi coalition’s blatant aggression against Yemen and is ignoring the crimes against humanity that are taking place there.
Pelosi’s reaction comes a day after the release of the first part of the FBI documents, which reveal the connection of some officials of the security and diplomatic institutions of Riyadh with the 9/11 incident. These actions or statements seem to be aimed at diverting public opinion from the issue of the irresponsible withdrawal of the United States from Afghanistan and acknowledging the futility of the 20-year occupation of this country.
