A Yemeni military source said that despite the ceasefire, the aggressor Saudi-Emirati coalition is still violating the agreement.
He told the official Yemeni news agency (Saba) that the aggressor coalition and its mercenaries had violated the military and humanitarian ceasefire 101 times in the past 24 hours.
The source stressed that coalition reconnaissance fighters flew 27 times in the airspace of Ma’rib, Hajjah, Saada and Lahj provinces, and Apache helicopters flew 16 times to the homes of citizens and positions of the Yemeni army and popular committees in Al-Balq al-Sharqi in Ma’rib province. “Al-Fakhr” in Al-Dhala province and “Shamkh Qaban” in Lahj bombed.
He also announced that coalition mercenaries had set up three military bases in Al-Aquz in al-Dhala, the eastern part of the Sheikh and the eastern part of the Eastern Tabeh in Jizan.
According to the source, coalition mercenaries attacked army positions and popular committees in al-Akkad in Ma’rib province. The mercenaries also targeted the positions 23 times with rocket and artillery attacks.
Coalition mercenaries fired a guided missile at a Yemeni cadre at al-Shorfa in Najran, the source said. They also bombarded Yemeni army positions in al-Balq in Ma’rib, al-Hamdani Farm and west of Harz in al-Hajjah province.
According to the source, the elements also fired 41 times at civilians and Yemeni army forces in the provinces of Hajjah, Lahj and Al-Dhala.
In this regard, “Hans Grundberg”, the UN special envoy to Yemen, announced the beginning of a ceasefire in Yemen on 13 April. He said a ceasefire had been reached between Sanaa and the Saudi coalition, ending all military operations for two months.
“The parties to the conflict in Yemen have responded positively to the UN proposal for a two-month (humanitarian) ceasefire, which will take effect on April 2,” Grundberg said in a statement yesterday. According to the fire, all ground, air and naval military operations will be stopped.
