The agency of the US Department of Defense also added that al-Sharabi had no leadership or assistant position in al-Qaeda and was obedient during his imprisonment in Guantanamo and he had some “physical and mental health problems”.
The Americans had previously said that Ghassan al-Sharbi had fled to Pakistan after the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States, where he received bomb-making training, and was arrested in Pakistan a year later, and then sent to Guantanamo Bay.
