The reasons behind the expansion of the Zionist regime’s aggression to Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Since the inauguration of the new cabinet of the Zionist government headed by “Benjamin Netanyahu”, Palestine has witnessed the expansion of the aggression of the Zionist settlers and the attacks of the Zionist army on the territory of Al-Aqsa Mosque. Violations and attacks that compare with similar cases of previous years confirm their unprecedentedness, both quantitatively and qualitatively.
Quantitatively, both the number of encroachments by the settlers and the number of attacks by the Zionist army forces on Al-Aqsa Mosque have increased, and it can be said that it covers all hours of the day and all occasions. In terms of the number of settlers and the number of police forces, we have seen a significant increase in aggression and attacks. In such a way that in some invasions, the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque are filled with settlers and police forces, and they have not only entered the mosques’ naves and closed spaces of Al-Aqsa Complex.
From a qualitative point of view, the settlers’ encroachments used to end in temporary marches and sometimes holding Talmudic ceremonies, while in the last 6 months we have seen the call of the Zionist extremist currents to hold a sacrifice ceremony in Al-Aqsa Mosque. In addition to the qualitative aspect of the police forces, with their constant presence in the mosque courtyards, they no longer just patrol, and when they are in the mosque courtyards, they search and harass Palestinians. To this amount of attack, one should also add occasional attacks on mosque mosques, similar to the destruction of the electricity system of Bab al-Rahma mosque.
