Turmoil in the Zionist regime, The Police Chief of Tel Aviv Resigns.
According to Reuters, Tel Aviv’s police chief said on Wednesday that he was resigning, citing political interference by members of Benjamin Netanyahu’s extremist cabinet, who he said called for excessive force against protesters.
In his speech, Tel Aviv police chief Amy Ashed did not mention Itamar Ben Gvir the far-right national security minister, who called for strict action against the protesters.
Immediately after the announcement of Ashad’s resignation, hundreds of protesters marched in Tel Aviv carrying the flags of the Zionist regime and chanting “democracy”. Some blocked a major highway, lit fires and confronted mounted police.
Ashed said in a televised statement that he could not meet the ministers’ expectations because, according to him, cabinet members broke all the rules and openly interfered in professional decisions.
He said: “For the first time in my three decades of service, I faced an absurd reality in which ensuring peace and order was not what they asked me to do, but the exact opposite of anti-peace and disorderly actions.”
The retired police chief of Tel Aviv also added: “Politics has infiltrated the highest ranks of the Zionist regime, and a uniformed officer has surrendered to senior politicians.”
Benguir, a hard-line Zionist convicted in the past of supporting terrorism and racial incitement, is seeking more power over the police force, raising concerns about police independence.
