The Personal Information of Millions of Americans Leaked.
The US government announced that following a recent cyber attack on state and federal agencies in the states of Louisiana and Oregon, the personal information of more than 3.5 million people has been exposed online.
CNN, citing American government officials, reported that this information contains the details of people’s ID cards and driver’s licenses.
American authorities have not directly identified anyone as the perpetrator of this cyber attack, but they say that this hacking attack was carried out using Russian ransomware.
Yesterday, Friday, “Eric Goldstein” from the officials of the Cyber Security and Infrastructure Administration of the United States announced a cyber attack on a number of government offices of this country. In an interview with CNN, Goldstein stated that the cause of this cyber attack was a security weakness in software used in American government organizations.
He also reported on the efforts of relevant organizations to solve the problem. The US official did not comment on the countries or groups that organized the cyber attacks.
A number of American universities, hospitals, and offices were targeted by cyber attacks two weeks ago.
