According to Al-Khalij Online, the first meeting of the heads of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council and the countries of Central Asia, namely Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan, was held in Jeddah.
In this meeting, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the Emirates, Meshaal Al Ahmad Al Sabah, Crown Prince of Kuwait, Nasser Bin Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa, representative of the King of Bahrain, and Asad Bin Tariq Al Saeed, representative of Haitham Bin Tariq Salman of Oman, Imam Tajikistan President Ali Rahman, Uzbekistan President Shaukat Mirzayev, Kyrgyzstan President Sadir Jabarov, Kazakhstan President Kassem Tuqayev, and Turkmenistan President Sardar Berdimuhamedov participated.
The meeting was chaired by Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, and represented by Salman bin Abdulaziz, King of Saudi Arabia.
In this meeting, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia expressed hope for cooperation in various fields, pointing out that the gross domestic product of the countries of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council has reached 2.3 trillion dollars.
Appreciating the countries of Central Asia for supporting the case of hosting Expo 2030 Saudi Arabia, he emphasized the importance of respecting the sovereignty of countries and not interfering in their internal affairs.
Stating that the challenges of today’s world require strengthening cooperation and stability in our region, Bin Salman emphasized the need to intensify joint efforts to deal with factors affecting energy security and its supply chain.
Kassem Toqayev, the President of Kazakhstan, also said: We must increase our mutual trade and exports to the member countries of the Cooperation Council.
Pointing out that net investment in Central Asian countries increased by 40% last year, he suggested holding the International Energy Forum in Kazakhstan and inviting oil and gas exporting countries in the Persian Gulf to participate in it.
Referring to the investment of 3.6 billion dollars by the countries of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council in the economy of Kazakhstan since its independence, he said: investment relations are the backbone of our relations.
Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Crown Prince of Kuwait, also said: This shows the desire to advance in the development of relations and we hope to establish a strategic partnership between the member states of the Cooperation Council and Central Asia. We hope for more cooperation in political, security, economic, cultural, and scientific fields and emphasized the importance of consulting with the company to continue cooperation and strengthen security and stability and achieve prosperity.
Asaad bin Tariq Al Saeed, the representative of the Sultan of Oman, also said: The relations between the Cooperation Council and Central Asia have seen progress and growth, and we hope for the activation of Fimabin agreements. We appreciate the positions of the Central Asian countries in supporting the just issues of the Arab world, especially the issue of Palestine.
