The Lebanese minister’s sarcasm to the international community: What harm does the return of Syrian refugees have for you?
The Minister of Social Affairs in the Government of the Advancement of Lebanese Affairs emphasized to the international community that the return of Syrian refugees to their country is voluntary and there will be no harm to this community.
Despite all the obstructions of the United States and Western countries, the process of voluntary return of Syrian refugees from Lebanon to their country continues.
Lebanon’s Ahed news site reported, this Saturday morning, the third convoy of Syrian refugees who voluntarily wanted to return to their country, left Beirut for Damascus.
Ahed informed that the departure of the refugees was done through the border crossings and with the official accompaniment of the Lebanese forces, especially the intelligence forces of this country’s army. In this convoy, 330 Syrian refugees returned to their country.
Hector Hajjar, Minister of Social Affairs in the Government of the Advancement of Lebanese Affairs, who oversaw this process, said: There are third, fourth and fifth categories of voluntary refugees [who will go to Syria]. The mechanism of return is that they are registered in the [Lebanon] public security service and after obtaining the approval of the Syrian authorities, the time of their return will be announced.”
Hajjar continued: There are also cases related to refugees who want to return, but their cases have not been completed yet. They told us that they want to return; Although there are problems in this field and their cases have not been completed.
While mocking the international community for disrupting the return process of Syrian refugees, he said: We advise the international community to be neutral. Voluntary and safe return of refugees, what harm does this society have? Because this return is voluntary.
In the end, this Lebanese minister asked the international community to “support voluntary return. Lebanon’s public security should also be thanked for facilitating this process.
