King Abdullah II of Jordan met with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Elysee Palace on Wednesday.
In this meeting, the latest regional and international developments were reviewed and the King of Jordan emphasized his country’s desire to develop bilateral cooperation in political, economic and defense fields.
The king of Jordan also emphasized the necessity of realizing a comprehensive and just peace based on the two-state solution as a guarantor of the formation of an independent Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, and appreciated the position of France and the European Union in supporting the two-state solution.
He warned about the continuation of the unilateral actions of the Zionist regime, which lead to weakening the chances of achieving peace and creating more violence in the region.
According to the report of the Jordanian website “Ammon”, Abdullah II also emphasized the need to find a political solution to the Syrian crisis in order to preserve the unity of the country and ensure the voluntary and safe return of Syrian refugees, as well as maintaining the security and stability of Iraq.
In this meeting, the two sides also reviewed the developments in Lebanon and the King of Jordan called it necessary to continue efforts to support this country.
Regional and international efforts to fight terrorism were also reviewed.
