The Iraqi “Al-Maluma” news site reported on Thursday that Ali Turki, a member of the Cleanliness Commission of the Iraqi Parliament, said in an interview with this Iraqi media that the current government will seek to reassure Iraqi citizens about the fight against corruption. should show his determination in investigating and following up the looted property in the “theft of the century” case of former Iraqi government officials and the prosecution of the perpetrators of this crime.
A member of the Sadeghoon faction of the Iraqi parliament, pointing out that he sent separate letters to the Prime Minister of Iraq, Mohammad Shia Al-Sudani, the Transparency and Anti-Corruption Committee, and the Judicial Court in issuing the order to prosecute the perpetrators of the theft of the century case, added: in this criminal case, I have asked the above institutions to arrest Mustafa Al-Kazemi, the former prime minister of Iraq, and all his relatives for their role in the financial corruption of the theft of the century; Because he and all his relatives have been proven to be involved in the financial corruption of this case.
A member of the Iraqi Transperacy Commission emphasized that if an arrest warrant is issued for al-Kazemi and his accomplices in this major financial corruption case, citizens’ trust in the government’s regulatory bodies and judicial institutions will definitely be gained once again.
Most of the members of the previous Iraqi interim government, including advisers, general managers, and people involved in corruption cases in the previous period, have fled abroad, and many were arrested at airports and border crossings.
