The former American ambassador will be responsible for the project of normalizing Tel Aviv’s relations with the Arabs
After feeling the failure in the project of normalizing relations between the Zionist regime and the Arabs, Washington is now looking to restart the driving engine of this action by choosing the former American ambassador to occupied Palestine as the person in charge of this project.
According to the report of Tasnim International News Agency, the Axios website, citing three American officials, reported that US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken is considering appointing Dan Shapiro, the country’s former ambassador to Israel, to be in charge of the Ibrahim Agreement project.
According to Axios, several months after Israel’s right-wing government came to power, most of the Arab countries that started normalizing relations with Tel Aviv under the Ibrahim Agreement have largely stopped this process.
While this project has not made much progress despite the media hype, Axios added that the White House still hopes to expand the agreements brokered by former US President Donald Trump’s administration.
According to this report, the creation of a new position in the US State Department shows that Joe Biden’s administration wants to make efforts in this field before the 2024 presidential election.
