The establishment of a 100 million euro aid fund for Ukraine by France.
The French president announced the creation of an aid fund worth 100 million euros so that Ukraine can use it to buy weapons and military equipment directly from Europe.
French President Emmanuel Macron announced during a meeting of European Union leaders in Prague that France has created a fund with an initial balance of 100 million euros for Ukraine to use it directly to provide weapons and other necessary equipment for Ukraine. Buy a war with Russia.
According to the France 24 news site, the French President said after the European Union summit in Prague: “We are creating this special fund with an initial balance of 100 million euros to purchase equipment including defense weapons that so far (to (Ukraine) we have delivered and we will deliver in the future.
He went on to say that negotiations are underway, especially with Denmark, in line with the implementation of the French government’s plan to deliver a larger volume of highly accurate “Kaiser” artillery weapons to Ukraine beyond the 18 that have been given to this country so far.
According to the report of “Lofigaro” newspaper, Macron said that this fund “provides the possibility for Ukraine to cooperate with the French military industry, and France is ready to co-finance the purchase program of a total of six Kaiser artillery weapons for Ukraine.”
Recently, France was criticized by some of its Western allies for what they called the lower level of French military support for Ukraine compared to other Western allies, but French officials and experts explained this as capacity limitations and not a lack of political will. This is the reason for the difference.
