The doors of the Iranian embassy in Riyadh are opened after many years.
Referring to the resumption of relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia, Reuters claimed that the entrance doors of Tehran’s embassy in Riyadh were reopened for the first time after seven years.
Reuters quoted eyewitnesses and wrote that when a team arrived to inspect the building of the Iranian embassy, the heavy doors of this building in Riyadh were opened.
According to Reuters, a white truck can also be seen in front of the door of the Iranian embassy. The Iranian embassy was reopened a few years after the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the arrival of a technical team from Tehran to Riyadh.
Regarding the visit of the Iranian delegation to Saudi Arabia, Nasser Kanani, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of our country, stated: In a new step and in line with the implementation of the agreement between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Saudi Arabia to resume official relations and the diplomatic activities of the political and consular missions of the two countries, the Iranian technical delegation He arrived in Riyadh at noon this Wednesday and was welcomed by the authorities of Saudi Arabia.
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs added: The Iranian delegation will take the necessary measures in two working groups in Riyadh and Jeddah to set up an embassy and a consulate general, as well as the activities of the permanent representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran at the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
Iran’s embassy in Saudi Arabia has been closed since 2016 when Riyadh severed diplomatic ties with Tehran. Nevertheless, the two countries reached an agreement last month, in talks mediated by China, to end the diplomatic dispute and reopen each other’s embassies and resume relations.
