The dollar has become a lever of American pressure against Iraq.
According to Al-Maloumah, “Mohammed Al-Baldawi”, one of the representatives of the Al-Fath Coalition of Iraq, emphasized that America is seeking to dominate this country through various channels, especially the leverage of the dollar.
He went on to add: America’s actions regarding the sanctioning of some Iraqi banks are an attempt to take control of this country, especially in the fields of gas and the use of dollars and the Iraqi electricity case.
Al-Baldavi said: The Iraqi government has also moved in the right direction in dealing with these American interventions to remove the country from Washington’s banner.
He clarified: Americans have taken advantage of the situation in Iraq and are trying to keep the property of this country. These measures have increased the dollar rate in domestic markets.
Zainab Al-Mousavi, one of the representatives of the Al-Sadeghoon parliamentary faction, also emphasized that the recent US sanctions against Iraqi banks were imposed with the aim of inciting public opinion in this country against the government of Mohammad Shia al-Sudani.
He added: American interventions in Iraq will increase in the coming days, and the country’s banks may also be sanctioned by Washington. All US actions are against international law. This is while we are witnessing the achievements of the Sudanese government in the field of fighting corruption and other economic and governance cases.
“Hadi Al-Amiri”, the head of the “Al-Fatah” coalition in the Iraqi parliament, also criticized the country’s dependence on the United States and said that it is a shame that an employee in the American treasury is in control of Iraq.
The head of Iraq’s al-Fath coalition stated about the dollar crisis in Iraq, which is caused by American interventions: Everyone knows how the Americans use the dollar as a weapon to keep nations hungry.
