The continuation of the crisis in England; University employees will strike.
British university employees have agreed to go on strike to protest the increase in living costs.
News sources announced on Monday evening Tehran time that British university employees have agreed to start strikes.
According to “CGTN” website, more than 70,000 employees of British universities have voted to start a strike. The “Union of British Universities and Colleges” announced in this context that university employees are facing poverty in the midst of the cost of living crisis and want a 12% salary increase.
In a statement, this union announced that the desired wage increase should be in line with inflation.
The news agency “Reuters” also wrote that this new decision adds to the growing unrest across the UK, where railway workers, health workers and legal experts have either gone on strike or are planning to go on strike to demand better pay and conditions.
The Union of Universities and Colleges England announced that staff voted in two separate ballots, one on pay and working conditions and the other on pensions, and both won more than 80 percent of the vote to strike. The union has now asked university vice-chancellors to enter into negotiations with the government to present proposals to improve salaries to prevent disruptions.
The employees of the Royal Mail Company of England, who are responsible for providing postal services in this country, have also announced that they will strike for 19 days in October and November. These protests are held due to the protest of postal workers against their salaries and working conditions.
The British Communications Workers’ Union, which is the main trade union for pursuing the demands of communications workers in England and also represents the employees of the postal company of this country, said that this strike is due to the proximity of events such as “Black Friday”, “Virtual Monday”. And Christmas will have a significant impact on the delivery of postal services at the time of peak demand for these services.
