The complete control of Sanaa over the most important al-Qaeda base in the south of Ma’rib.
Yemeni media reported that Yemeni army forces and popular committees had taken full control of al-Qaeda’s most important and largest base in the region after heavy fighting in southern city of Marib.
Tribal sources in Yemen’s province told Vakale al-Sahafa al-Yemeni that Sanaa forces had taken control of al-Qaeda’s largest and most important al-Qaeda base in Wadi al-Ubaida, south of Ma’rib, after fierce clashes with invading coalition forces.
According to the report, the Yemeni army and the People’s Committees also took control of the large arsenal of weapons and ammunition at the base; Al-Qaeda intended to use these weapons for terrorist operations in Ma’rib when Sanaa’s forces completely took control of the area.
