The British Prime Minister was forced to apologize for attending a party.
The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson apologized in the British Parliament on Wednesday (today) after the revelations about attending a party during the Corona quarantine period.
As pressure mounts on British Conservative leader Boris Johnson to attend a controversial party, he apologized to lawmakers today.
According to Sky News, Boris Johnson apologized after admitting to having a party at the Downing Street Garden (the office and residence of the British Prime Minister) during the first quarantine to fight the Corona virus.
“He has learned enough to know that there is something we have done that was not right,” the British minister said in a speech to the House of Commons under intense pressure from lawmakers.
“On May 20, 2020, just after 6 pm, he went to the garden to thank the staff and returned to his office 25 minutes later,” Sky News continued.
“I had to send everyone inside,” Boris Johnson said, stressing that he should be responsible for the events surrounding the quarantine. “I had to find another way to thank them (the prime minister’s staff).”
In response to the prime minister’s remarks and his apology, Labor leader Kerr Starmer called on Boris Johnson to do the right thing and resign.
