Chinese media announced the beginning of the largest military exercise in the waters and airspace near Taiwan.
China’s largest military exercise around Taiwan began today (Thursday) after the provocative visit of Nancy Pelosi, the speaker of the US House of Representatives, to the island.
China TV announced that this four-day exercise, which continues until Sunday, started at around 12 noon local time (8:30 Tehran time) and includes the use of war ammunition.
Chinese state media reported, “Six main areas around the island have been selected for combat training, and during the exercise, ships and planes should not enter the waters and airspace of these areas.”
AFP writes that the “Chinese Liberation Army” exercise, which is held in several areas around Taiwan, is in some places 20 kilometers away from the coast of this island.
