The statistics announced on the occasion of Earth Day show that the Zionist regime continues with the policies of land grabbing and house destruction and further Jewishization of the Palestinian land.
According to the report of Tasnim International News Agency, statistics and information on the 47th anniversary of Earth Day show how the Zionist regime has developed settlements throughout the West Bank and other occupied Palestinian lands by usurping Palestinian lands.
“Arabi48” website reported, quoting the Land Research Center of the Arab Studies Association, that the authorities of the occupying Zionist regime have seized 85% of the lands of the West Bank and allocated them for the construction and development of the settlement project.
According to the research obtained by the aforementioned institute, during the operation to confiscate Palestinian lands in the West Bank, the Zionist regime has destroyed 12,350 Palestinian houses and uprooted more than 2 million perennial olive trees.
According to the report of the aforementioned research center, the Zionist occupiers have used these lands to build 572 Zionist settlements, and today about 850 thousand Zionist settlers live in these settlements.
Forty-seven years ago, on March 30, 1976, six Palestinian youths protested and were martyred in the occupied territories of 1948 due to the confiscation of 21,000 dunums from the lands of Al-Jalil, Al-Muthul and Al-Naqab by the Zionist occupation regime. The Palestinian people named this day as Earth Day because of their commitment to their land and to honor the memory of the martyrs, and Palestinians celebrate this day every year.
