Thai hats Washington’s head; exportof tens of millions of second-hand gloves to the United States.
Tens of millions of second-hand medical gloves used in Thailand were exported to the United States during the Corona epidemic, a US news network reported.
During the Corona epidemic, the United States imported tens of millions of used nitrile medical gloves from Thailand.
Cyanan News Network reported that during the Corona epidemic, several illegal companies sprang up in Thailand, where workers, mostly immigrants, washed and retrieved medical gloves.
Due to the epidemic period and the high demand for these gloves, these products were exported to different countries.
A survey of importers and distributors found that millions of such second-hand, counterfeit gloves came from the United States.
“There’s a huge amount of bad products coming into the United States, including an endless stream of dirty, second-hand, non-standard gloves, and federal officials are just beginning to understand the sheer volume,” said industry expert Douglas Stein.
The investigation began after a US company contacted the US Customs Service and the Food and Drug Administration saying it had received a consignment of dirty gloves from Thailand.
Despite this report, the Thai company responsible for sending the gloves to the United States continued to export its products to the United States until July, Xi’an reported.
Finally, in August, the Food and Drug Administration confiscated a consignment of personal protective equipment from Thailand at the border. The move comes five months after receiving the first report of second-hand gloves.
There have been no reports of injuries or illness to staff due to the use of these contaminated personal protective equipment.
