Moscow: Syrian terrorists prepare for a chemical attack in Idlib
Russia’s Center for National Reconciliation in Syria says it has information that Syrian terrorists plan to carry out a chemical attack in the de-escalation zone in Idlib.
Gen. Vadim Kolit, deputy commander of the Russian Center for Reconciliation in Syria, warned on Friday that Syrian militias, along with white hat elements in Syria, were preparing for a chemical attack in Idlib province.
According to Sputnik, this is not the first time that the Russian military has leaked information about a plot by Syrian terrorists and white hats to carry out chemical attacks and accuse Syrian army forces of doing so.
Colitis said; The Russian Center for Syrian Reconciliation has received information about the Syrian terrorists Hayat al-Sham and the White Helmets plan to use chemical weapons in the de-escalation zone in Idlib.
According to information received by Russia, Syrian terrorists, along with white hat elements, transported about 10 barrels of toxic materials by truck to an area near the village of Harim in Idlib province.
“Based on reliable information, the terrorists plan to carry out a chemical attack in the south of Jabal al-Zawiyah against civilians and blame Syrian army agents for the possible attack,” he added.
Earlier last month, Russia quoted local sources as saying that terrorists had used tanker trucks to transport poison to the village of Atma in Idlib province, filling rockets with poison.
Russia also announced in February that gunmen had moved boxes possibly containing chlorine gas north of Idlib to simulate a chemical attack in Idlib, accusing Damascus of carrying out chemical attacks.
From the beginning of the Syrian crisis in 2011 until today, supporters of the Syrian opposition have repeatedly accused Damascus of using chemical weapons against its opponents. These accusations were made mainly when the Syrian army launched operations against armed and terrorist groups in various areas or was making significant progress.
In 2017, the United States launched a missile attack on some Syrian military and research centers, along with France and Britain, in the Eastern Ghouta Duma, making such claims. The allegations came as Damascus later voluntarily destroyed its chemical stockpiles under the supervision of Moscow and Washington.
