Panjshir Resistance Channel: The Taliban’s claim about the fall of Panjshir is false.
The Afghan National Resistance Front said in a statement: “The claim of the aggressor enemy [Taliban] to occupy Panjshir is false. The forces of the National Resistance are present in the pre-established camps, and the war has been going on in various places since last night.
The people of Afghanistan can be sure that the resistance will continue until God achieves freedom and justice. Raising the Taliban flag in front of the governor’s office does not mean the end of the Taliban resistance and complete domination.
Taliban claim to occupy Panjshir
Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid tweeted that the last stronghold of enemy mercenaries, Panjshir province, had been completely captured. Recent efforts to ensure complete security in the country also paid off, and Panjshir province came under the full control of the Islamic Emirate.
Mujahid also added that some forces of the Resistance Front were defeated and others fled.
The Taliban have assured the people of the province that they will not suppress them.
Earlier, the Taliban rejected a proposal by Panjshir Resistance Front leader Ahmad Massoud to prepare for talks if Taliban forces withdrew from Panjshir province.
Al-Jazeera quoted a Taliban spokesman as saying: “After Ahmad Massoud rejected our peace offer, we have nothing more to say to him.
After several days of intense fighting, Ahmad Massoud welcomed the Afghan Ulema Council’s offer to hold talks, saying: “If the Taliban withdraw their forces from Panjshir, the Panjshir front will stop its military operations and is ready for talks.”
The Associated Press also quoted local witnesses as saying that thousands of Taliban forces took control of eight districts in Panjshir overnight. Fearing for their safety, the witnesses asked not to be named.
