Taliban Foreign Minister: We expect the Tashkent meeting to have a positive impact on Afghanistan’s economy.
The foreign minister of the interim government of the Taliban said: We have very good relations with the friendly country of Uzbekistan and we expect this meeting to have a positive role and effect on the economy of Afghanistan, Uzbekistan and the region.
Amir Khan Motaghi, the foreign minister of the interim government of the Taliban, who went to Uzbekistan to participate in the Tashkent meeting, told reporters about his meetings on the sidelines of his trip: In these meetings, they will talk about economic issues and how Afghanistan is a transit and economic center and how it is a point Wasl played its role between South Asia and Central Asia, a discussion was held.
He added: Also, consultations were held with the Uzbek authorities about the railway line that will connect from Tirmaz to Mazar, from Mazar to Kabul and from Kabul to Peshawar to the regions of South Asia.
Motaghi continued: “We have very good relations with the friendly country of Uzbekistan and we expect this meeting to have a positive role and effect on the economy of Afghanistan, Uzbekistan and the region. We are ready to interact with all the countries of the world in terms of political, economic and diplomatic relations because Afghanistan has a government that dominates everywhere.”
The foreign minister of the Taliban noted: “We hope that the countries of the region and the world will make good use of this opportunity because the investment environment in Afghanistan is favorable and security is ensured, and the government is also paying attention to these matters; Therefore, it is ready for all countries in the region and neighboring countries to make good use of this opportunity.”
This senior Taliban official emphasized: “We expect from the Tashkent meeting that they will understand the facts in Afghanistan and see the progress we have made in Afghanistan in various sectors so far, and organizations and other countries can also make a good decision about this.”
