The Syrian Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources criticized the looting of the country’s oil by US terrorist forces, saying that the US-occupied areas contain 90% of Syria’s oil reserves.
According to Sputnik, Syrian Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources Bassam Ta’meh noted that the US-occupied areas contain up to 90% of Syria’s oil reserves.
“The Americans and their followers are acting like thieves in targeting Syria’s oil resources and aid ships,” he said.
The Syrian minister noted: “The attack and the war against Syria did not take place in any area; “Whether in terms of preventing us from exploiting resources or helping us.”
“Syria has good oil reserves, but contracts for oil exploration and extraction are expensive and take a long time,” he said.
He estimated the direct and indirect damage to Syria in the oil sector at $ 92 billion.
American terrorists have occupied eastern and northeastern Syria in order to plunder the country’s oil with the help of terrorists and their affiliates.
Informed sources reported that the United States, along with its Kurdish allies and in cooperation with Turkey and Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists, has resumed looting and selling Syrian oil.
