At around 2:40 p.m. local time yesterday, the grandson of the black American leader found his mother’s body in her Brooklyn apartment, according to Business Insider.
The BBC reported that Aziz and Islam’s conviction was investigated after Malcolm X’s daughters conspired to kill Malcolm X, citing a letter from a former police officer on death row claiming that New York and FBI police had conspired to kill him. They had called for the reopening of the investigation into their father’s murder based on new evidence.
Local media have reported that investigations into the suspected death of Malcolm X’s daughter are ongoing and have not released details.
Malcolm X, real name Malcolm Little, was born in 1925 in Omaha, Nebraska.
His father, Earl Letil, was a bold and reckless priest who supported Marcus Garvey, the black nationalist leader. He had been repeatedly threatened with death by white-affiliated political organizations for his extensive efforts to secure the oppressed rights of blacks. Finally, in 1929, their home in Michigan burned to ashes.
