Stoltenberg: The burning of the Quran in Sweden is shameful.
The Secretary General of NATO described the attack on the holy books of Muslims by extremists in Sweden as shameful.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg condemned the insulting act of burning the Holy Quran in Sweden during his visit to Turkey on Thursday.
The General Secretary of Natudre stressed: I personally consider burning holy books as a shameful act. Stoltenberg added that during such an action, he understands the feelings of Muslims in Turkey and around the world.
Rasmus Paludan, the Danish-Swedish and anti-Islamist leader of the extremist party of Sweden, recently set fire to a copy of the Quran in front of the Turkish embassy in Stockholm.
Angered by the issuance of a license by the Swedish police to hold such protests, which had nothing to do with the concept of “freedom of expression”, Ankara canceled the visit of the Swedish defense minister to Turkey and summoned the Stockholm ambassador in Ankara.
