Stoltenberg: Russia shows no signs to surrender.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg claimed in an interview with the BBC on Sunday that Ukraine should receive long-term support because Russia has so far shown no signs of giving up.
In this connection, the NATO Secretary General claimed that military support would ensure the survival of Ukraine as an independent country and force Russia to sit down and negotiate an end to the war!
Jens Stoltenberg added: “Ukrainian forces have been active for several months, but we know that Russia has mobilized more forces, many of them are now training.” All this indicates that Moscow is ready to continue the war and also try to potentially launch a new offensive.
In this regard, he claimed: The mobilization program in Russia in September showed that Moscow has no desire to end the war with Ukraine!
This NATO official said earlier in a conversation with AFP that Russia is preparing for a long war in Ukraine and NATO allies should continue to provide weapons to Kiev.
According to this report, almost 10 months after the war in Ukraine, Stoltenberg claimed that there is no evidence that Russian President Vladimir Putin has given up on achieving his goals in Ukraine and taking control of the country!
NATO Secretary General added: Russia is preparing for a long-term war and has deployed more forces, and we should not underestimate it. We must know that President Putin is ready to continue this war for a long time and carry out new attacks. It is very likely that this war, like most wars, will end at the negotiating table, and any solution must guarantee Ukraine’s independence.
It should be noted that the Russian army started its “special military operation” in eastern Ukraine on February 24, Senior Russian government officials say the operation was launched in response to a request from the heads of the autonomous republics of Donetsk and Luhansk to protect them from Ukrainian forces. According to Sputnik, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the purpose of this operation was “to support the people who were subjected to genocide and persecution by the Kiev regime for more than eight years.”
