Sputnik quotes a ground source: US supports ISIS in Syria.
A field source reported that US terrorist forces in the Al-Tanf area in southeastern Syria provide significant support to ISIS and are responsible for providing logistical and military support to terrorists.
For the third week in a row, airstrikes continue on ISIL terrorist positions in the Syrian desert region between the provinces of Raqqa, Hama and Homs.
A senior field source told Sputnik that ISIL elements are currently active in the Hama and Raqqa deserts, and reconnaissance drones have identified the terrorist group’s headquarters.
According to the source, Russian fighters responded to the movements and attacked 18 times, following which four ISIL bases were destroyed and 40 ISIL members were killed and wounded.
He also said that US terrorist forces in the “Al-Tanf” area in eastern Syria provide a lot of support to ISIS and are responsible for the logistical and military support of terrorists. This support reaches ISIS through the side roads that connect the Raqqa and Hama deserts.
For the past three weeks, Russian fighter jets have been bombing positions and aid routes to ISIL in the Syrian desert with pre-emptive strikes, thwarting ISIL moves to attack trade convoys and Syrian army positions, the source said.
He concluded by noting that the Syrian army is still clearing several axes in the country’s desert areas in order to put an end to the presence of the remaining ISIL elements in the area.
The Syrian desert is currently home to a number of ISIS terrorists. American fighters also support these elements.
