Simultaneous attacks by the United States and the ISIS terrorist group in Kabul.
Following last night’s US airstrike in Kabul, several rockets were fired at the city’s international airport this morning, allegedly the work of the ISIS terrorist group.
At least five rockets were fired at US-controlled Hamid Karzai International Airport this morning as the withdrawal from Afghanistan continued, according to the International News Group.
The United States must withdraw all its troops from Afghanistan by tomorrow (Tuesday, September 30).
The rockets were reportedly fired from inside a vehicle near Kabul’s Khairkhaneh district, after which the US missile defense system destroyed them in the air before the rockets hit.
According to Reuters, it is not yet clear if all of these rockets were fired into the sky, with initial reports indicating that no troops were injured in the attack.
CNN meanwhile, reports that nine members of a family were killed in a US drone strike near Kabul airport.
A relative of the family told Cyanan that six children, the youngest of whom was 2 years old, were also killed.
U.S. officials, however, claim that a U.S. Air Force drone strike targeted a suicide bomber.
US officials also claim that no civilians were injured in the attack.
On the eve of the withdrawal of foreign troops, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres had previously said that the possibility of a resurgence of the terrorist group by Westerners was not unexpected to justify its continued presence.
