Seyyed Moqtada al-Sadr: Dialogue is useless; Early elections should be held.
After the request of some Iraqi parties for a dialogue in order to solve the political problems in this country, the leader of the Sadr movement considered the dialogue useless and demanded early elections in this country.
Seyyed Moqtadi al-Sadr, the leader of the Sadr movement, gave a speech this evening (Wednesday) about the political situation in Iraq.
According to the official Iraqi News Agency (WAA), the leader of the Sadr movement first addressed his supporters: “Don’t be deceived that this revolution is a war for power.” I have not decided whether to enter the new elections or not. It was malicious complaints that prevented the formation of a majority government.”
Seyyed Moqtadi al-Sadr added: “Talking with them is useless. Reform is only possible through sacrifice. I am ready to testify for reforms. The revolution started with the Sadris and they are part of the people.
The leader of the Sadr movement continued: “This revolution will not exclude the corrupt people in the Sadr movement either.” I have not been satisfied with the shedding of blood and I will never be. Most people are fed up with the ruling class. “Use my presence to end corruption.”
In another part of his speech, he called for the dissolution of the Iraqi parliament and then the holding of early elections in this country, and at the same time, he asked his supporters to continue their demonstrations until their demands are met.
The leader of the Sadr movement has rejected talks with other Iraqi parties, while Hadi Al-Ameri, the leader of the Fatah coalition, announced in a statement a few hours ago: The manufacturer is serious, we emphasize again. Accordingly, we emphasize what was stated in the statement of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi on 08/01/2022 about the recent events in the country; The same statement in which an inclusive national dialogue was invited. We shake the hands of all well-wishers who are trying to find a satisfactory way out of this crisis for all parties.”
On Monday of this week, the leader of the Fatah coalition emphasized the necessity of a dialogue between the Sadr Movement and the Coordination Committee of the Iraqi Shiite Parties by issuing a statement.
