Sending 1,500 tons of weapons to Ukraine; Lithuania gave Kiev a Stinger missile.
Following the shipment of weapons and equipment by the United States and its allies to Ukraine, the Kiev government announced the receipt of anti-aircraft systems from Lithuania.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced the receipt of military equipment from Lithuania, including Stinger anti-aircraft missiles and ammunition.
According to Reuters, “Oleksiy Reznikov” noted that two American planes, including 180 tons of ammunition, had entered the country on Sunday, and that 1,500 tons of ammunition with 17 flights had been unloaded in the country so far.
Military officials say Ukraine is significantly strengthening its armed forces with the help of its allies, equipping the military, especially with British and American anti-tank systems and Turkish drones.
US and NATO officials claim that Russia may invade Ukraine at any moment, under the pretext of sending military equipment and weapons to Ukraine and deploying troops in Eastern Europe. A claim denied by Russian officials.
Sending weapons and military equipment to Eastern Europe and Ukraine is one of Russia’s security concerns, which it has repeatedly warned Western officials about.
“Two US planes arrived in Kiev on Sunday morning to bolster Ukraine’s defense,” the US embassy in Ukraine said on Sunday, referring to a new military shipment to Ukraine. “This is part of a $ 200 million aid package that the US Congress recently authorized to send to Ukraine, including ammunition and grenade launchers.”
