Saudi security forces raid the home of a Hamas representative and interrogate his wife.
Saudi security forces raided the home of a detained Hamas representative in the country and interrogated his wife and daughter-in-law while transferring them to a security center.
The European-Mediterranean Human Rights Watch said Saudi security forces raided the home of Mohammed al-Khadri, 83, a Hamas detainee.
According to the report, the above-mentioned forces transferred Ms. Wajdan (70 years old), the wife of Mohammad Al-Khadri, and her daughter-in-law, Hani Al-Khadiri, to a security center, where they were detained for several hours. They were released because they did not talk about Muhammad al-Khadiri.
The European-Mediterranean Human Rights Watch added that security forces interrogated Mohammad al-Khadri’s wife, searched and photographed his home, and confiscated his mobile phone.
The forces have informed al-Khadri’s wife that Saudi officials are upset by the current moves to demand his release. They have also threatened to punish and deport the rest of the family from Saudi Arabia.
In April 2019, Saudi Arabia arrested more than 60 Palestinians, including Mohammed al-Khadiri and his son, for allegedly supporting Hamas. Mohammed al-Khadiri, 83, is seriously ill and Hamas has repeatedly demanded his release.
