Saudi Foreign Minister’s Visit To Damascus.
An informed source in Damascus, today (Friday), in an interview with “Russia Daily” network, reacted to a Russian media report about the imminent visit of Saudi Foreign Minister “Faisal bin Farhan” to Syria.
The Russian news agency “Sputnik” reported yesterday that the Saudi foreign minister will travel to Damascus in the next few days, quoting a Syrian source it called knowledgeable. In an interview with this news agency, this source said: “Preparations are currently being made for Prince Faisal’s ambassador to Farhan in the next few days.”
However, Russia Al-Youm network denied the imminent ambassador of the Saudi Foreign Minister to Damascus, quoting another Syrian source, whom the network also called informed.
The said source stated: “Currently, there is no talk of Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan’s visit to the Syrian capital – Damascus -.”
These conflicting reports have been published while Saudi Arabia recently sent a plane carrying humanitarian aid to Syria after cutting ties with Damascus for several years.
Before sending this plane to Damascus, a Syrian official had informed that Riyadh requested permission from Damascus to land its plane carrying relief and food aid to Syria.
