Saudi Foreign Minister: We want good relations with Iran.
Saudi Arabia’s foreign minister says his country wants good relations with Iran. He also claimed that it would be better for GCC member states to be present at the Vienna talks.
Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan stressed on Tuesday that the GCC summit in Riyadh had addressed various regional issues.
According to Russia Today, he said during a press conference after the GCC summit in Riyadh: “The GCC summit discussed regional and world issues and joint defense and strengthen cooperation.”
Ibn Farhan, stating that his country wants good relations with Iran, said: “This issue depends on Tehran’s cooperation.”
“It is better to be part of the Vienna talks, but we welcome any mechanism to address the concerns of the Gulf,” he said.
Claiming that Iran’s position in the talks is worrying, he said: “We are following the ongoing nuclear talks in Vienna.” We have not yet seen any real change in Iran’s behavior.
The Saudi Foreign Minister claimed that the biggest threat to Iran’s nuclear program is aimed at the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf. He added: “We want a long and comprehensive nuclear agreement with Iran.”
