Two senators, one from the Democratic Party and one from the Republican Party, introduced a draft resolution last Wednesday that could lead to a reassessment of US security assistance to Saudi Arabia.
Chris Murphy, a Democrat, and Mike Lee, a Republican, have introduced legislation under a provision of the Foreign Assistance Act that would allow Congress to vote on requests for information about a country’s human rights practices.
If this draft is approved, the US government must submit a report within 30 days or automatically stop all security assistance to that country.
In this regard, some analysts and experts reacted to this American action. Saudi military expert Isa Al-Faye believes that US President Joe Biden has taken various measures against Saudi Arabia since taking power in this country. Is.
He further added that the American government has created a strategic void in the region since the presidency of “Barack Obama” and the goal of the Democratic Party is to create tension in the region.
This Saudi military expert emphasized that Washington has used the human rights card against several countries. America cannot change the strategic decisions of different countries, including Saudi Arabia.
For years, Washington and Western countries have tried to create tension in the region and supported terrorist groups with the aim of dividing the countries of the region.
In this context, “Abdullah Al-Asiri”, a Saudi military expert, said: “The international community has realized that the United States of America has not succeeded in establishing the pillars of global security and stability.”
He further added that since Joe Biden became president, he did not adopt correct policies. Countries do not wait for America to intervene in their interests. Saudi policies are adopted based on the country’s interests.
Abdullah Al-Asiri stressed that America should respect the agreement between Saudi Arabia and Iran because this agreement was adopted based on international frameworks, otherwise, America will lose its international position even more.
This Saudi expert stated that welcoming Washington at the current stage requires a change in the country’s political behavior and respect for the countries of the world, especially Russia and China.
Mohammad Saeed Al-Roz, an expert in strategic affairs, also emphasized that the stage of the “New Middle East” under the leadership of the United States has ended. Western countries tried to divide the region into several weak countries to create an Arab-Western-Hebrew front against the East led by China, Russia, and Iran.
