Saudi Arabia welcomed the killing of Ayman al-Zawahiri.
In the first reaction to the news of the US President that the leader of Al-Qaeda was killed, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia welcomed this issue in a statement.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia welcomed US President Joe Biden’s news that Ayman al-Zawahiri, the leader of the Al-Qaeda terrorist group, had been killed in Afghanistan.
It is stated in this statement: Al-Zawahiri is one of the leaders of terrorism who led the design and implementation of hateful terrorist operations in America, Saudi Arabia and a number of other countries of the world. These operations led to the death of thousands of innocent people of different nationalities and religions from the attack of Saudi citizens.
On Tuesday morning (August 11th), the President of the United States gave an explanation about the drone attack on Sunday (August 9th) on a target in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan.
During a press conference in the White House, Biden said: “We killed Ayman al-Zawahiri, the leader of the Al-Qaeda terrorist group in Afghanistan. Al-Zawahiri had killed many Americans in various attacks.
According to the American media, he said about the Al-Qaeda leader: “Al-Zawahiri was deeply involved in the planning of the September 11, 2001 attack. For decades he masterminded attacks on Americans. “He had traces of murder and violence against American citizens behind him.”
The American president continued: “Now justice has been done and this terrorist leader is no more.” “No matter where you hide, if you are a threat to our people, the United States will find you and destroy you.”
Biden also explained about the process of tracking Al-Zawahiri: “Our intelligence community identified Al-Zawahiri earlier this year, he had moved to the center of the city of Kabul in Afghanistan. I allowed a precision strike that would have removed him from the battlefield.”
He stated that none of the members of the Zawahiri family were harmed and no civilian casualties were caused, and he clarified: “We will never allow Afghanistan to become a terrorist haven.”
