Saudi Arabia accepts 20,000 Umrah pilgrims.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia announced that the reception of Umrah pilgrims on a limited basis will begin soon.
Hisham Saeed, spokesman for the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, said today (Sunday) that the reception of 20,000 Saudi pilgrims and the Saudi Ghar will begin on August 10 (another 10 days).
He told the Okaz newspaper that as part of the Etemarna program, pilgrims will visit Mecca and Medina under sanitary measures, and that efforts will be made to gradually increase the number of pilgrims in the next stages.
The Saudi official added that countries can send pilgrims that are not on the banned list of the Ministry of Health and the Saudi Aviation Authority. He did not mention which countries’ citizens are currently unable to perform Umrah.
This year, the Hajj ceremony was held by the decision of the Saudi government with the presence of 60,000 pilgrims, which is limited to citizens and individuals residing in Saudi Arabia.
Restrictions on Hajj and Umrah are taking place in Saudi Arabia, where Saudi users have recently protested passionate music concerts and periodic celebrations. These protests intensified during the Hajj season, and users wrote that how is it that the outbreak of Corona does not occur in the ceremonies of immorality and sin, and that there is only fear of getting caught during the Hajj ceremonies?
