The former head of Saudi Arabia’s intelligence service has claimed that the country is not seeking custody of holy sites in occupied Palestine.
In an interview, Turki al-Faisal, the former head of the Saudi intelligence service, claimed that the Zionist regime was spreading rumors against the country.
In an interview with “Qasari al-Qawl” program on Russia Today, he said that Saudi Arabia is not seeking the acquisition of the Holy Quds and that all the rumors in the media about this, are rumors.
Turki al-Faisal claimed that the Zionist regime was inciting such issues and spreading rumors against Saudi Arabia. “Saudi Arabia has its own Islamic sanctities that are sufficient for its honor and greatness, and as King Salman of Saudi Arabia said, we are proud that the people of Saudi Arabia serve the pilgrims,” he added.
The custody of holy sites in occupied Palestine has been in the hands of Jordan’s Hashemite family for nearly 100 years.
In another part of his speech, the former head of the Saudi intelligence service addressed the country’s foreign policy, saying that the Arab world is the focus of all countries, what happens in the region affects the whole world.
He claimed that Saudi Arabia would not oust any country and would try to have close relations with all countries, including Turkey, provided that the countries did not interfere in each other’s internal affairs.
Turki al-Faisal also touched on Saudi Arabia’s relations with Jordan, claiming that Riyadh supports Jordan at all levels and that relations between the two countries are strong and continuous.
His emphasis on normalizing relations with Jordan comes as the recent failed coup in the country and the arrest of “Bassem Awadullah”, a close ally of the Saudi family in Jordan, have strained relations between Riyadh and Amman. There is no conspiracy going as per Israeli rumors.
