Sanaa’s reaction to the French arms deal with UAE.
France’s major arms deal with the United Arab Emirates coincided with the Saudi coalition’s war crimes in Yemen, prompting a reaction from the chairman of the Yemeni Supreme Revolutionary Committee.
Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, chairman of the Yemeni Supreme Revolutionary Committee and a senior member of Ansar al-Islam, condemned French President Emmanuel Macron’s visit to Saudi Arabia at the same time as the Saudi coalition’s crimes against civilians and children in Taiz province. (More details)
Al-Houthi wrote on his Twitter page: “We remind him that his invitation to European countries to sell weapons to the countries of the aggressor coalition will lead to war crimes in Yemen.” Preliminary statistics of this (crime in Taiz) indicate the martyrdom of 18 people and a number of wounded.
On Friday (yesterday), the President of France met today with Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, on the sidelines of the Dubai Expo 2020.
“With the UAE, we have now completed the sale of 80 Rafale aircraft and 12 Caracal helicopters,” Macron wrote on Twitter. We work together confidently for our own safety.
Macron then met with the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad, and is scheduled to continue his visit to Saudi Arabia to meet with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
