Sanaa reaction: The Saudi coalition’s claim about the release of fuel ships is not true.
The Sanaa Oil Company reacted to the reports after reports from some sources about the release of Yemeni fuel vessels.
A spokesman for the Yemeni Oil Company, Issam al-Mutawakil, reacted Wednesday evening to allegations by Saudi coalition sources about the release of Yemeni fuel vessels.
According to the Ansarullah Information Center, a spokesman for the Yemeni Oil Company said that media reports about the release of some Yemeni fuel vessels were incorrect. Essam al-Mutawakil added that all ships, especially the C-Ador auxiliary petrol carrier, were still detained off the coast of Jizan in southwestern Saudi Arabia.
According to Yemeni media, the Saudi coalition is seizing the bow of seven fuel-carrying ships despite permission from international organizations. Some sources close to the Saudi coalition claimed today that Riyadh had released some of the seized ships. Saudi Arabia has seized fuel-carrying ships as Sanaa and other liberated Yemeni provinces face a severe oil crisis due to the siege.
The Saudi coalition is blocking the entry of oil products into the port of Al-Hudaidah (western Yemen). Ammar al-Azrai said today that the Yemeni people are facing the worst fuel crisis and that all parts of the country, including the Yemeni health facilities, have been paralyzed following the seizure of fuel vessels.
Saudi Arabia, at the head of an Arab coalition backed by the United States, has launched a military aggression against Yemen and imposed a land, air and sea blockade on April 26, 2015, claiming that it was trying to bring the resigned Yemeni president back to power.
The military aggression did not achieve any of the goals of the Saudi coalition and was only accompanied by the killing and wounding of tens of thousands of Yemenis, the displacement of millions, the destruction of the country’s infrastructure and the spread of famine and infectious diseases.
