Russian source: We destroyed the Ukrainian Air Force.
Russian media reported, quoting an informed source, that Moscow was able to destroy the remnants of the Ukrainian Air Force.
More than 6 months have passed since the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian war, a Russian diplomatic source announced that the country has practically destroyed the Ukrainian Air Force.
An unnamed Russian diplomatic source said Moscow had destroyed what was left of Ukraine’s air force with its aerospace forces and defense systems.
He told the Russian “Tass” news agency: “All qualified operational personnel of the former Ukrainian Air Force from the MiG-29, Sukhoi-27 and Sukhoi-25 aircrafts have been practically eliminated by the effective actions of the Russian Aerospace Forces and air defense systems.”
According to this Russian diplomatic source, Western promises to deliver more Soviet-made warplanes will likely remain unfulfilled.
The source said Ukraine was forced to send less-trained airmen into the conflict to fly combat missions, resulting in “catastrophic casualties” among the remaining Ukrainian Air Force personnel.
The source quoted by Tass news agency stated that the attempt to recruit pilots in Poland and other Eastern European countries for the Ukrainian Air Force was “not particularly successful”, adding: “A small number (of pilots in Poland and other Eastern European countries) who agreed to “Now they are in graves or hospitals.”
The statements of this Russian source about the destruction of the Ukrainian Air Force were made in the context that the conflicts between these two countries started on February 24, 2022 (5th March 1400) and are still ongoing.
