Russian expert: Moscow considers Iran not only a partner, but also an ally.
A Russian expert described the Iranian president’s visit to Moscow as a sign of a strong coalition between the two countries, and said that Russia considered Iran more than a partner and rarely an ally.
Andrei Ontikov, a Russian expert, described the visit of Iranian President Seyyed Ibrahim Ra’isi to Moscow as a sign of strong ties and strong unity between the two countries.
In an interview with Fars News Agency, Ontikov described the president’s visit to Russia as very important and said: “This visit was not limited to talks with his Russian counterpart, but also included his speech in the Russian Duma, which was a rare and very exceptional event.”
He stressed: “Russian officials consider Iran an ally, which is also rare in its kind, because Russia calls friendly countries partners and talking about an ally shows the identity of Moscow-Tehran relations.”
The Russian expert said that the two countries agreed on many issues and that there is continuous bilateral cooperation, which is reflected in the large volume of trade between the two countries.
He continued: “In many regional and international cases, such as Syria, we saw the cooperation of the two countries, so that Damascus, Tehran and Moscow, with the support of each other, succeeded in confronting terrorist groups in Syria, and thus the country maintained its sovereignty.”
He referred to the nuclear talks in Vienna and said that Russia and China act as a shield against the challenges of the West, because the two countries are on the side of Iran in these talks.
Referring to the joint naval maneuvers of Iran, Russia and China, Ontikov said: “These maneuvers reveal the depth of relations between the three countries and Iran’s accession to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization shows its importance at the regional level and its importance in relations with Russia and China.” .
The Russian expert noted the common position of the two countries on the Syrian issue and the common position of the two countries with China on the Iranian nuclear issue, and said that this would help find a solution in the Vienna talks and would not allow any country to withdraw from the next agreement.
