Russian Ambassador: Political interactions with America are almost paralyzed.
The Russian ambassador in Washington stated that the political dialogues and cooperation with the United States have been lost even in matters of mutual benefit, and said that the employees of the Russian embassy are also threatened.
“Anatoly Antonov”, the Russian ambassador to America, said today (Wednesday) that the political interactions between Washington and Moscow are almost paralyzed.
In an interview with the Sputnik news agency, Antonov explained: “Political dialogue between Russia and the United States is almost paralyzed, and bilateral cooperation has disappeared even on common issues.”
He stated that the American side cut off the contact of the Russian diplomatic mission with the country’s executive institutions, and stated: “Russia believes that it is important to maintain communication channels with the United States in order to avoid a confrontation with unpredictable consequences.”
This Russian diplomat stated about America’s interference in the war in Ukraine: “The decision-making center about the fate of Ukraine is outside the country’s borders, and this issue was revealed when Kiev canceled the agreements with Russia.”
According to Sputnik, Antonov described the claims of American officials about approaching the apocalypse and a world war as “groundless” and considered it to be aimed at inciting more countries against Russia.
Reiterating that Russia is not threatening anyone with nuclear weapons, he explained: “Rather, Moscow seeks to prevent further escalation of tensions and the situation from getting out of control.”
The Russian ambassador to America also added: “The employees of the Russian embassy in the United States are being threatened because Washington is trying to prevent the work of this diplomatic mission. The American government may even prevent Russian diplomats from leaving Washington.
